The intention for this juried Call for Art is to curate an exhibit that reflects and honors the rich art history of the South Pacific, including the ancient and ongoing gifts it offers the world of art. Gifts that encompass the vast traditions of beauty generated from this region of planet earth. This is an opportunity for you as an artist who resides in this region to express your contribution to this celebration of our human connections to land, sea, and our other than human brethren.
“We are truly proud to bring this Under the Southern Skies exhibit to life. The seeds for this project have been in the works for 10 years, and so seeing this come to life is pure joy. Women started joining Intentional Creativity® trainings in 2013, flying from Australia to attend. Specifically, I’m thinking of Jassy Watson. We have been collaborating with women from Australia on our in-person and virtual team all that time. Having greater awareness about the hemispheres has completely changed the way we work at MUSEA and the way that we look at the Wheel of the Year and time and space. I have had the pleasure of visiting and teaching Intentional Creativity® in Australia and my relationship with women in that area of the world is strong and true. We can’t wait to celebrate their unique contributions to our community!” -Curate Shiloh Sophia
