About Us

She Rides the Equal Sign by our Musea Co-Founder, Shiloh Sophia McCloud – Teaching painting from our CODEX Course 2019

MUSEA – Center for Intentional Creativity® is a living Art Museum and School. MUSEA is home to an inter-generational and multicultural collective of emerging and experienced creatives, healers, and leaders. The MUSEA community is a global art movement dedicated to self-expression as a method for consciousness and compassion through the arts. The Intentional Creativity Arts Guild of MUSEA-Certified educators and curators offer engaging arts programming across the world co-curating art exhibits and online classes and in-person experiences.

For more than two decades MUSEA has nurtured an Intentional Creativity cultural framework rooted in the teachings of a matriarchal art lineage of storytelling and images. Intentional Creativity is an inter-disciplinary practice weaving creative arts, sciences, somatics, transpersonal psychology and archeo-mythology. A core premise is that creativity is a basic human right that enables every person to know how they think, feel, and therefore act.

MUSEA extends an invitation to all beings to live with connection and intention by choosing to bring love and awareness into everything we create and our relationship with the universe. Together we can remember the past, live in the present with intention and dream the future.

Are you seeking a community of creatives? Would you like a dedicated art practice with powerful consistent teachings designed to call your own voice forward? You may find yourself at home with us here at Musea!

Creating with intention is a sacred act. A consecration. A celebration. An honoring of yourself and your life. All beings have always created. We have mixed up creativity with talent. Talent may be for the few. Creativity is for everyone!

About Our Museum

Welcome to Musea Intentional Creativity Museum – our exhibit space curated by and for artists of the International Intentional Creativity Movement. For over 27 years our organization has worked with women artists to bring forward their voices, images, stories and visions for the future. Our physical location, first opened in 1999 in Sonoma, followed by exhibit spaces in San Francisco 2001-2004, Sausalito, 2000-2003, Mendocino 2004-2008, Healdsburg 2008-2016 and returning to our Museum and University space in Sonoma in 2016. Our first four years saw thousands of visitors on location, as well as hundreds of thousands virtually to engage, view, study, and participate in our growing movement. The focus of our work is Intentional Creativity, an enduring lineage spanning 100 years already, and with eyes towards another 100 years into the future.

Intentional Creativity is a method and philosophy developed as an approach to making art that is in the matriarchal lineage of our Founder Shiloh Sophia. Once she could see the power and impacts of making art with mindfulness and Intention, she began teaching all over the world and at universities including Phd programs and the United Nations. In 2010 she began to offer the teachings held within the body of work for Certification, inviting others to teach and study.
