ORIGIN STORY
Kinship With Creation is a collection of paintings and body of work created by Musea Curator, Shiloh Sophia over three and a half years from 2018 to 2021. These paintings are inspired by our relationship with creation. Many paintings are from coursework in the Intentional Creativity curriculum, of which Shiloh Sophia is a root teacher and guide. You will find the title of the course that some of the paintings are derived from below the title of the paintings. Some of the paintings are also reflective of characters from Shiloh Sophia’s upcoming mythic novels, as well as ceremonial paintings she created as part of her 25 year Intentional Creativity practice.
In these works Shiloh Sophia explores the concept of ‘anthropos’ – the true human being’s relationship with nature, partner in love, consciousness, and the Divine.
The Kinship with Creation Virtual Show takes us on a multimedia journey through image and sound, first showing the individual painting followed by the title and then a detailed view of the work. After each painting is a pause for reflection.
Shiloh Sophia has dedicated this exhibit to her Matriarchal Lineage. This includes her mother, Caron McCloud; her teacher mothers, Art Ancestor Sue Hoy Sellars and Carmen Baraka, as well as her living teacher mothers, Mary MacDonald and Alice Walker – with so much gratitude to Eden McCloud and Lenore Thomas Straus for passing on the wisdom they carried in kinship with creation through image and word.

“When I am painting, I feel pure bliss.
Freedom.
Hope for myself and humanity.
I hope my paintings provide others
with that same hope and inspiration
to live from their own creative expression.”

SHILOH SOPHIA BIO

Shiloh Sophia lives life as a great adventure! A renaissance woman who communicates her philosophy through painting, storytelling, illustrations and metacognitive drawing. For 27 years she has dedicated herself to her soul work – the practice of creativity as a path of transformation and consciousness. Starting as a gallery owner, she has represented her own work, as well as hundreds of women artists during her career as a working artist and curator. Her devotion to sacred art-making, and specifically medicine painting and metacognitive drawing, is a personal spiritual practice.
Her paintings are widely collected around the world, and she achieved incredible success with her fine art and books by the age of 40. Her intuitive and contemplative painting process called Intentional Creativity® was eventually developed into teachings and trainings which have been shared with thousands worldwide. She was able to provide groundbreaking research on Intentional Creativity® as a pathway to healing through self expression. Shiloh Sophia’s message of ‘creating with intention’ has now reached hundreds of thousands, with consistent monthly enrollment of hundreds of new students in Intentional Creativity art classes. Shiloh Sophia’s online community has over 10,000 women with a consistent engagement from over 85% of members. The Intentional Creativity Movement may be one of the largest, most well established art movements the world has ever seen. More than a style and a philosophy, it is a practice, called by many ‘a lifestyle’.
Intentional Creativity is taught in university MA and Ph.D. programs, at the United Nations, and by over 400 Intentional Creativity® Teachers and Coaches worldwide.
At the core of Shiloh Sophia’s work is a belief that the right to self-express is one of the most basic human rights. Her research and integrative approach to the healing power of Intentional Creativity dives into the exploration of the right/left brain connection with the innate wisdom of the heart, the knowings of the body, and interaction with and awareness of the field. She works with a philosophy of connection centered around the red thread, a talisman which offers the teaching that we are all already connected, and that each one of us has a unique piece of the red thread to add to the weave.
She is the creator of over seven illustrated books and journals and is currently working on a series of mythic novels as well as an inspirational deck. Having been trained by her mother, Caron McCloud, the poet, and Sue Hoya Sellars, the painter, she brought her gifts of language and image into form. To her students, she offers the gift of a creative matriarchal lineage that brings with it a continued legacy of art culture, practice, process, and teachings.
To honor this matriarchal lineage and be of service to her 10,000+ member community, she and her husband Jonathan McCloud, co-founded MUSEA : Center for Intentional Creativity®, of which Shiloh Sophia is the Curator for a visionary art permanent collection, as well as shows from emerging artists throughout the world through MUSEA’s physical and virtual museum. They provide education in their global online classroom as well as at their campus in Sonoma County, which features student housing, a wine bar called Musette, a vineyard, and small farm.
Shiloh can be found most days having tea with her muses discussing quantum physics and celebrating revelations of the heart.

“May love be at the center of all our choices.”

Shiloh Sophia is a visionary genius. Her Intentional Creativity work, paintings, poetry, writings, and creative offerings inspire women to rise up and become who they’ve always wanted to be. Her writings captivate your soul and raises it up to the sunlight. She is powerful beyond measure and her words and poems always fascinate. If you long to feel seen and understood, look no further.

Every time I am exposed to what Shiloh teaches, I discover a well of depth, creativity, and intimacy I didn’t know existed. The Divine Feminine mysteries that have been so suppressed for thousands of years burn steadfastly in her very DNA. To be in her presence, to awaken to the muse, and to receive her love, knowledge, wisdom, and Shakti is no less than a priestess’s transmission that will leave you on fire with love.
Co-teaching with Shiloh is an ecstatic pleasure words cannot adequately express. Her Divine Feminine essence, her mastery of the content she teaches, her wild sense of humor and hearty laugh, her authenticity, the depth of her wisdom, her willingness to challenge and face uncomfortable confrontations, her wide open heart, and her love of both teaching and those she teaches shines through with such radiance that anyone teaching with her gets an energy healing just being in her presence. I’m not exaggerating. After I finish teaching with Shiloh, not only are the students glowing; I am on fire too.

Shiloh Sophia is a fiercely committed warrior of the spirit. She and her work are illuminated, inspired and of the highest integrity. The Cosmic Cowgirls are revolutionary paradigm shifters and my work with Shiloh and The Cosmic Cowgirls has been immensely energizing, rewarding and awakening. My highest recommendation goes to Shiloh Sophia and The Cosmic Cowgirls!

I can tell you that as someone who once studied art more formally, more academically, I learned more from you in a shorter period of time than I did in 5 years of college. I sometimes stand back and wonder whether I did Color of Woman training so I could teach or so I could paint, and I’m still not sure, still torn, still questioning, but I do know Color of Woman training and my work with you allowed my own style to deepen and change dramatically, in a way that is perceivable to the people who have been looking at my work all these years.

“Trusting in Divine Abundance” is in my bedroom where I see it every morning as I open my eyes and every evening as I get ready to enter the dreamtime. I fell in love with this painting because it feels so alive, celebratory, and filled with warmth and awe. No matter what mood I am in, spending a few moments with this painting melts away any negativity and fills me with gratitude and a huge inner smile. She has the sun within her. Her gaze up toward Spirit and those juicy fruit remind me how blessed and fragrant life is. I loved the cat snuggled in her arms. One month after purchasing this, my wonderful 17 year old cat who had been ill made his transition. I feel his loving presence and hear him purring as I look at this art. Shiloh Sophia is an amazing artist who truly creates living art: you can feel the passion, the beauty, the aliveness and the sacredness in all her artwork and I feel blessed to have this painting in my life.

Stunning. Sublime.
I have been transported, once again, into the mystical heart, soul and mind of Shiloh Sophia and have come away awestruck (and nearly speechless).
