“I put this show together because of my enthusiasm for life, for the abundance inherently coded into all of life and to put a ding on the way humans see nature. If we become much more reverent about our incredible home, Mother Earth, then we can move into a planet forward consciousness where we can stand together and co-create a thriving planet for all.”

A Reflection from
Photographer Julie Steelman
As a young child, I watched Mutual of Omaha’s Wild Kingdom every Sunday night. I couldn’t ignore my fascination with wild animals, the colors, the behaviors and the markings. Instantly I knew some intelligence was trying to speak to me through these creatures. My young mind decided I needed to make my own money so I could go to Africa on my terms. Years later I had an in-water encounter with four wild bottlenose dolphins. What I saw left powerful imagery in my mind’s eye and a sweetness etched on my heart. It was then that I knew I had to have a camera in my hand because the Universe was speaking to me. The camera became the lens through which creativity began communicating empowering messages about life.
I jumped in and began trekking with Mountain Gorillas, walking with wild cheetahs, spending six days and six nights in a meadow with 30 grizzly bears in sight and swimming with sharks to study their stealth beauty. So many encounters and so many awakenings led me to a deep reverence for Mother Earth. She needs us to step into sacred stewardship yesterday!

We live WITH earth not ON earth. This work has become my form of Intentional Creativity, using my camera as my canvas. This immersive show is designed to connect you to the spiritual essence of wild earth and ignite the possibility to live as nature intended, in balance and harmony.
