“"May I sometimes offer this hope to you, in an image, a poem, a commentary, may you feel less alone because those of us who choose, continue to speak in flowers. I will continue to speak in flowers, without denying the reality of suffering, this is the way.”
-Curate Shiloh Sophia
This exhibit shares new creation stories for the children of the future from the matriarchs of the now. The vision of a living, animystic earth. Combining science, activism, and mysticism gave rise to a journey where over 60 women traveled together to discern from their own experience, from their own families, from their own sense of place and where they live, from their own relationship with the natural world and with the cosmos and with the root system.
What did they want to leave for the children of the future? What story was needing to be told from them? If this book, that they each created, was found in 500 years in a cave, would it tell the story of who we were or who that family was? Each woman embarked on a journey to create a book that was illustrated and painted and written for them, by them, through them, through the experience of a living earth and Intentional Creativity.® The women who are sharing their creation stories with you in this art exhibit have created a book and a series of paintings. This exhibit showcases, celebrates, and honors the voices of the Curas in our community.
